THE GENTLE HOLY SPIRIT
True conviction of the Holy Spirit feels redemptive and hopeful. Conviction purges you from misconduct, wrong thinking, bondage to bad appetites, hatred and sinfulness toward others, and whatever other sin God needs to purify from your life. Shackles fall from your eyes and heart, and in the most perfect way, the precious, gentle Holy Spirit shows you your sin, filling you with His wisdom and glory in the moment of realization and repentance. If there is sin that must be dealt with, His gentleness is perfect in that moment of disclosure and process of purging.
Galatians 6:1-2 says, “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently.” And Second Timothy 2:25 says, “Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth.” Here we see gentleness being stated with the realization of sin. The Holy Spirit is the gentleman who guides us into that reality of sin.
Nurse Friend, the Bible tells us all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Just like me, I pray you will experience the beautiful gentleness of the Holy Spirit. And as the gentle and beautiful conviction is felt, won’t you surrender all to Him today?
Today’s Prompts
Think and make a few notes about a time when you sensed the beautiful conviction of the Holy Spirit.
Ask the Holy Spirit to bring any unrepented sin to your memory.
Ask Jesus to forgive you of these sins.
Today’s Scripture
John 14:26 “ But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Today’s Declaration:
“According to God’s Word, John 14:26 says the Father has sent the Holy Spirit in Jesus name. The Holy Spirit will teach me all things and will remind me of everything Jesus said.”
